Lewis and Harris Football Assoication are hosting their AGM at Stornoway Golf Club on Monday, November 30. Starting at 7.30pm - all are welcome.
Conversation cafe - The ALLIANCE and Co-Cheangal Innse Gall (C-CIG), Western Isles Third Sector Interface would like to invite you to a Conversation Café hosted in partnership with the Health and Social Care Academy.
This pop up café will be held in the Bayhead Bridge Centre, Stornoway on Thursday 26th November from 2 to 4:30pm.
The conversation café is an opportunity for citizens to engage with each other and share their views on:
What is needed to help you live well in the future?
What support do we need to live healthier lives?
Following the Cabinet Secretary’s announcement at our recent Citizen Wellbeing Assembly of a National Conversation on creating a healthier Scotland, the café will provide an opportunity for constructive conversations around health and wellbeing which will form part of a dialogue on the future of health and social care in Scotland.

Soup, Pudding and Céilidh - The Laxdale Community Association are hosting a Soup and Pudding lunch, followed by an evening Céilidh with burgers under canopy, will be held on Saturday 21st November.
The event is to raise funds to help defray the expenses of protracted illness incurred by a family in the district that has recently been bereaved.
It is planned that the Soup and Pudding lunch will commence at 12.30pm, with the evening Céilidh starting at around 6.30pm.
There will be music and entertainment throughout the day and evening with teas, coffees and home baking served throughout.
Raffles will be drawn at intervals, with prizes kindly donated by local companies, to whom we express our thanks.
In addition, the Historical Exhibition, that touched a chord with so many when it was open in recent years, will be open throughout the day & evening with a refurbished display.
The Laxdale Hall will be open from 10am on the Saturday morning to receive donations of baking.
There will also be buckets for the financial donations in various points throughout the premises.
The Community Association extend a very warm welcome to all to come along and meet old friends in a convivial atmosphere, for a most worthy cause.
Light lunch - Clann an Latha an Dè will be hosting the last light lunch of this year on Saturday 21st November at Ionad na Seann Sgoil, Shawbost, 12.30 to 2.00pm.
There will be a choice of soups, delicious selection of puddings with tea/coffee and biscuits to follow.
Raffle tickets will also be on sale for the usual varied selection of prizes.
Please come along, bring your friends, relax, and enjoy lunch and a good catch up before the Christmas panic sets in. All welcome.
Estate Buyout - Following the cancellation of the last meeting (due to bad weather) this meeting will now take place at the Bernera Hall on Thursday, 26th November at 7.30pm.
At this meeting the Board of the Trust will report on developments with regard to the purchase of “The Crofting Lands of Bernera” from the present owner.
The Executor of the late Count’s will has indicated that he wishes to exclude Little Bernera from the sale, with a view to selling it on the open market, which is clearly unacceptable.
The Board have unanimously decided on a way forward and want Members and Residents to be aware of, and give their support to, this plan.
It is vital that we get the views of all Members and Residents on this development so please attend if you can.
Community Centre - The bonfire and fireworks display was recently held and despite the bad weather it turned out to be a lovely quiet night and perfect for the event.
The children had been guising the previous week for contributions to the event and managed to raise £618. Some refreshments were also sold on the night to raise some funds.
Youth Club - The Youth Club are holding a ‘Bernera has no Talent’ night which is to be held on Friday 20 November at 7.30pm. This should be a thoroughly entertaining event and anyone who wishes to enter will be most welcome. You can be very talented or talentless!
It is also hoped that many people will come along and watch so please attend if you can and help the children raise funds for their Youth Club.
Church News - The Remembrance service was held on Sunday 7 November on a very windy and wet morning. The wreaths were laid by Norman Macleod, Tobson and Finlay Maciver, Breaclet.

Sympathy - We sent our sympathies to Dol Angus Macdonald from Heath Park whose mother passed away recently. Dol Angus originally came from Uig and the community sends condolences to all the family.
Speaker Evening - On Thursday 19th November: come along to the North Lochs Historical Society’s Speaker Evening at 7.30pm in the Community Centre, Leurbost.
The guest speaker is Donald Martin from Harris, who spent many years working in the Education Department of the Comhairle and local Gaelic development organisations, before his retirement.
Ceilidh - On Friday November 20th there will be Live Traditional ceilidh music at the coffee evening in North Lochs Community Centre on Friday evening from 7pm.
The Silver Darlings the North Lochs Senior Citizens fundraising.
Girls Night - On November 21st there will be a Girl’s Night at Balallan Hall from 6.30pm.
Beauty treats include nail art, HD brows and LVL lashes for girls of all ages.
Games Nights - Games nights have recommenced in Balallan Hall on Friday evenings from 7 to 9pm.
Come along to play ball games, table tennis, darts and football.
All under sixteens must be accompanied by an adult.
Admission is Adults £2.00 and children £1.00. Tuck shop, tea and coffee available.
Historical Society - Kinloch Historical Society monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 24th at 8pm at the Old School Balallan.
Christmas Bazaar - A Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday 21st November in Lochmaddy Hall between 11am and 2pm.
There will be lots of stalls, refreshments and home baking by members of The Guild.”
