Cameron’s Chip Shop is celebrating after being recognised with the prestigious National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Fish & Chip Quality Award.
The award identifies outlets that serve the highest quality fish and chips following an assessment of the premises, equipment, working practices, hygiene standards and management controls, along with the quality and taste of cooked fish and chips.
The Quality Award follows quickly after Cameron’s was named as one of the UK’s Top 60 Fish and Chips shops and winning the EatSafe Awards.
Owner Nicky Cameron said: “The last couple of years has seen us invest in equipment and training to ensure we can provide our customers with the very best quality food we can deliver, prepared in the cleanest possible environment. This award is a great achievement for us and we want to thank our fantastic team of staff who we would be nothing without.”
Each Fish and Chip Quality Award is valid for two years and retention is dependent on standards being maintained.
NFFF Training and Accreditation Manager Richard Wardell explained: “The NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award assessment is extremely comprehensive. Food safety is a key area that we examine together with other key aspects of the business including the preparation and cooking equipment, to the management of paperwork and the traceability of fish.”
