Carloway residents to vote in ballot on community buyout

Residents of the Carloway Estate area are to be asked to vote for or against a community purchase of the Estate.

A ballot will be held of all electors who will be asked whether they would be in favour of Carloway Estate Trust (Urras Oigreachd Chàrlabhaigh) buying the Carloway Estate, including the sporting and mineral rights, from the current landowner.

by 4.00pm on Thursday 6 February 2014.

Postal Ballot Papers will be issued to electors within the Carloway Estate Area on February 10th. Completed Ballot Papers must be returned by 4.00pm on Monday 24 February 2014.

The counting of votes will take place in Breasclete Community Centre at 7.30pm on Monday February 24th. The count will be open to the public.
