Celebrating Academic Achievement

At a recent ceremony in The Nicolson Institute, Stornoway Mr Peter Carpenter, Director of Education, presented certificates to pupils who this year achieved five Higher passes at one sitting.

“It is important to demonstrate to our young people that we acknowledge their hard work. It is a huge achievement not just to pass five Highers at one sitting, but to manage either four or five Grade A passes,” said Mrs Cunningham, Acting Rector.

“Many of these pupils will now be applying for university,” she continued. “With such excellent grades, they can compete on an equal footing with other school leavers in Scotland and the wider world.”
