Stornoway butchers showed they are a cut above the rest this weekend as they scaled to the highest point in the Western Isles in aid of the local branch of Cancer Research.

The team from WJ MacDonald Butchers in Stornoway missed the Isle of Lewis Cancer Research event ‘Coves Climb the Clisham’ last month as they were working but made plans to do their bit on another day.

Forty one ‘Coves’ climbed the Clisham last month raising more than £2,000 for the local charity.

Recently Chair of CRUK Isle of Lewis Committee Kay Mackay picked up an Honorary Fellowship at the Cancer Research UK ‘Flame of Hope’ award.
