Check out band the Shed at the Woodlands

Lewis band The Shed are performing at their favourite venue, the Woodlands Centre, Stornoway, on Friday 10th April at 7.30pm.

The Shed are a five piece Band formed in November 2014.

Members are: Iain ‘Neosa’ MacKinnon (Bass), Calum Blane (Lead Guitar), Niamh Blane (Vocals), Gerry Blane (Guitar & Vocals) and Ken MacLennan (Drums).

Their self penned music has been described as 60’s influenced folk rock.

The band have headlined at two charity gigs on the island. The first gig was the support act at the Woodlands Centre in Stornoway for ‘Neosa’.

The Shed are helping to raise funds for the St Kilda Challenge, and in particular for Peigi Macsween.

Peigi’s voyage will begin from Oban on the 25th of May 2015 and she will be sailing on the Alba Explorer, a 72 foot steel hulled ocean racing yacht.

She and 17 others hope to clock up 300 nautical miles during the seven day journey.

Proceeds from the St Kilda Challenge will help to provide adventure under sail for young people from all backgrounds and circumstances.

The Shed released three tracks, recorded live at the Woodlands, on SoundCloud, on the 22 March, which includes a track ‘The Politician’.

Neosa released a new single ‘All I can think of is you’ during Easter on SoundCloud featuring Alissa Feudo, an indie singer/songwriter from Northern Virginia. Links to the Shed and ‘Neosa are as follows: and
