Santa accompanied with a band of Vikings is set to land at Stornoway port tonight (Friday, December 11th) as part of the town’s Christmas Lights Switch On event.
The Viking group will arrive on Cromwell Street Quay at 7pm and will bring Santa to a very special ceremony in Perceval Square.
Forty torch bearers and pipe bands will escort the entourage to the square where the bands will play, the Christmas lights will be switched on, the party will begin and Santa will go to a special Grotto nearby to give out presents.
Chief Executive of Stornoway Port Authority, Alex MacLeod, said: “We are delighted to be working with Stornoway Amenity Trust and ending our 150 anniversary year with such a fantastic event.”
Charlie Nicolson, chair of the Amenity Trust, added: “We are delighted with the plans for this year’s event.
