Comhairle nan Eilean Siar insist they have not changed their policy on bilingual signs after a sign in Marybank was newly erected without Gaelic.

A sign at the Bennadrove junction on the A859 shows Stornoway and Tarbert with both place names written in English.

A spokesperson for the Comhairle said: “There is no change in the Comhairle’s Gaelic policy and we are considering the way forward on this matter.
