The Comhairle have opted to stop funding the Stornoway Lorry Park leaving bus operators and hauliers concerned about where they will park in Stornoway Town Centre.
As part of the budget cutbacks Councillors voted to scrap funding for the £10,000 per year Lorry Park behind Engebret Filling Station, which is used by both local and mainland coaches and hauliers.
The area has been used for parking since 1999, and just over ten years ago was resurfaced by the Comhairle, costing the public purse £100,000.
But now there is doubt over where lorries and coaches will be able to park when the current short term lease runs out in August this year.
