Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has congratulated Pròiseact nan Ealan and the Hebridean Celtic Festival for their performance in this year’s Scottish Events Awards.
Pròiseact nan Ealan won both the best Small Event award and the prestigious Chairman’s Award at the Awards for their Na Mo Chuid Aodaich project, while the Hebridean Celtic Festival beat stiff competition from Celtic Connections and Edinburgh Hogmanay to win the Best Large Festival award.
Alex Macdonald, Convener of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, said: “Pròiseact nan Ealan and the Hebridean Celtic festival are to be congratulated for producing events of the highest quality here in the Western Isles, which have deservedly been recognised at the Scottish Events Awards. These awards are recognition of the fact that we have a cultural life in these islands to match anywhere else in Scotland, and indeed further afield.
“Pròiseact nan Ealan and the Hebridean Celtic Festival are both key players in the cultural life of these islands and we look forward to enjoying more of their excellent projects and events in the future.”
