Countdown is on for Western Isles’ most inspiring young people

With less than 14 days left until the lines close, people across the Western Isles are being urged to nominate inspirational young people who have made a positive impact on the lives of others for the Young Scot Awards 2014.

Ahead of the February 18th deadline, Young Scot is on the lookout for heroic young people that have made a big impact in their local community and is encouraging people across the Western Isles to nominate young people aged 11-26 years who have made a real difference in their area.

The awards showcase Scotland’s finest young talents and are a chance to celebrate their inspirational achievements throughout the year.

With 11 different categories to apply for — from Sport, Arts and Health to Enterprise, Heritage and Volunteering — three finalists in each categories will be selected and invited to the high profile awards ceremony in the SECC Glasgow Arena on April 10th.

The winners will be announced on the night.

Louise MacDonald, Chief Executive of Young Scot, said: “In every town and city in Scotland, there are young people who deserve to be nominated for a Young Scot Award.

“The Awards highlight how hard young Scots work and are a great opportunity to celebrate the effort and dedication displayed by them.

“So if you know a young person in the Western Isles, help recognise their dedication and determination by nominating them for the Young Scot Awards 2014 today.”

For further information and to nominate a young person or group, please visit before midnight on Tuesday, February 18th.
