Day of action against speeding drivers

Northern Constabulary officers will be targeting drivers ignoring speed limits as part of today’s, Wednesday 22 February, ACPOS led day of action.

Officers from across the Highlands and Islands will be targeting those drivers who are risking their own and others lives by speeding or driving inappropriately.

It is part of the Force’s ongoing commitment to the improvement of safety on Highland and Island roads.

Head of Road Policing, Inspector Derek Paterson, said: “Those who exceed the speed limit and those who drive at inappropriate speeds for the prevailing circumstances not only risk their own lives but they risk the safety of other road uses and that includes pedestrians and cyclists who can be particularly vulnerable.”
