The Deputy First Minister used the launch of the white paper on independence to showcase Harris Tweed on a national stage.

She wore a black Harris Tweed coat made with fabric from Harris Tweed Hebrides, by Scottish designer Judy Clark.

Nicola Sturgeon said: “With over 200 media from across Scotland, the UK and the world attending the launch, I wanted to take the opportunity to showcase Harris Tweed, an prime example of Scottish excellence.

“Judy is one of the country’s most exciting and talented young designers and it was delighted to be involved in showcasing Scottish design and fabrics on a day when the world’s media was firmly focused on what’s happening here in Scotland.”
