Donald McKee donated the £150 he raised cooking for a wedding in the British Legion to Crossroads Care recently.
Crossroads, which is a national organisation with approximately 140 local schemes throughout the country, helps carers and those they care for.
Karin Slater from Stornoway started work at Crossroads Lewis in June, having taken over as Administrator from Donna Macleod, and received the donation on behalf of the charity.
She said: “I’m really proud to be part of something so well thought of. It’s a highly rewarding job even just working in the office, but the real hard work is done by our Care Attendants, who provide incredible support to the carers and their families in our local community. They have all made me feel very welcome.”
