Doors out of use at Hospital


The main front entrance to the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, the Emergency Department entrance doors and also the three sets of doors to the loading bay on level 1 will be out of use this week.

The doors are being replaced, with work commencing today (Monday 26th).

The current programme for replacing the doors is; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - replacement of the inner and outer set of automatic doors to the main entrance/reception; Wednesday, Thursday - Emergency Department doors; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - loading bay doors, level 1.

However the schedule may change depending on how the work progresses.

Barriers and diversion signs will be put up to direct people through the Emergency Department entrance while work on the main entrance reception doors is taking place.

While the Emergency Department doors are getting replaced, all Emergency Department visitors and patients will be diverted through the main entrance/reception.

The loading bay doors will be off limits during Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
