Double call-out for Stornoway Lifeboat

Volunteer crews of Stornoway RNLI were out twice this evening (Sunday) to assist in separate incidents.

The lifeboat launched at 17:35 following a report to the Coastguard from a member of the public who had spotted a diver’s surface marker buoy near Downies harbour at Arnish Point. Coastguard inquiries found that the buoy had been lost by an amateur diver yesterday.

The lifeboat and crew returned to harbour but a short while later the remaining volunteer crew were out again to assist the Coastguard with a medical incident which happened on a visiting fishing vessel.
