Emergency service misuse is reported

Theft

The theft of £600 was reported from an address on Plantation Road Stornoway on July 1st.

Police are continuing their enquiries.

Police assault

Two men, aged 49 and 39 have been reported for Breach of the Peace and Police assault following an incident on July 2nd at 9pm in the Tong area.

Damage

A report of a Road Traffic Collision was made when a Volkswagen Passat was damaged whilst parked at the Co-operative store on Macaulay Road, Stornoway between 6am and 3pm on June 29th.

Vandalism

An electricity box was vandalised at the Pier Crane, Leverburgh Pier in Harris between Friday June 24th and Sunday June 26th. Police are appealing for information.

999 misuse

A 69 year old woman from a Stornoway address has been reported under the communications act for the misuse of the 999 service on July 1st.

Abusive behaviour

A 63 year old woman has been reported for threatening and abusive behaviour following an incident on July 1st at 7pm in the Newmarket area of Stornoway.

Motorbike seized

A Suzuki motorbike was seized at 11.15pm on July 1st in the Balivanich area and an 18 year old male reported for no insurance, no licence and the theft of the motorbike.

Wildlife crime

The Police are asking for information from the public following the discovery of a gill net and a bag of salmon, recovered from an area around the north end of Port of Ness, on July 4th around 2pm.

Cycle officers

Several police officers from the Stornoway Police Station have now qualified as cycle patrol officers. The bikes enable officers to cover greater distances quickly whilst out on patrol and are particularly useful at public events such as the upcoming Hebridean Celtic Festival.
