Emergency services called to Cladach beach

Three Coastguard Teams, RNLI lifeboat and Fire Brigade units were called to Cladach Beach, North Tolsta, on last night (Thursday, April 29th) to reports of a submerged vehicle.

Stornoway, Ness and Breasclete Coastguard Teams attended, the Stornoway RNLI lifeboat launched at 1805hours and the Coastguard search and rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene.

The Ronja Viking vessel also stood by near by.

There were no persons found in the vehicle, but they arrived later and were safe.

Fire Brigade units and Stornoway RNLI worked together to put a rope around the vehicle and pulled it out clear of the water.

Stornoway RNLI returned to berth at 2130hours.
