This week we are featuring a lovely moody sunset shot taken by Gael Hogan as she was walking home to Cliasmol in North Harris.

Gael said: “I took the photo one night last week at around 7pm. I was on a walk after tea to the fank and back and caught this site as the sun has just set. I’m very lucky.”

In the image you can see Taransay, and Soay Mor in the background. The sea is West Loch Tarbert as it rolls in off the Atlantic.

The road in the picture above, if followed past the fank, will eventually end up at Hushinish. The settlement of only four houses overlooking a white sand beach with stunning views to the Atlantic.

However, to reach there means a precarious drive along a 12-mile-long single-track B road, and should be approached with caution.
