Exploring 200 years of emigration from Berneray

Berneray Historical Society is holding a one-day conference in Berneray Community Hall on Friday 3rd August 2012.

The conference is the culmination of the first fourteen months of an 18-month project, A’ tilleadh ar n-eachdraidh dhachaigh (Bringing our history home), and will be presenting some results of the Society’s researches into emigration from Berneray.

The aims of the conference are To describe the historical and cultural background to emigration from Berneray and discover the contribution made by Gaelic culture and heritage to new communities.

The event will be followed by an evening ceilidh dance with Calum Iain MacCorquodale.

The conference is open to all and a £5 registration fee is requested in advance.
