An updated FLOOD ALERT has been issued for Western Isles.
There is a risk of coastal flooding due to a combination of high surge, wind and waves. Particularly at risk are low lying coastal areas and causeways exposed to the south west and west on the southern islands, from Barra to North Uist. High water in this area is around 8pm tonight, though winds will have dropped slightly by then.
The public are advised to take care and to avoid areas at risk where possible. SEPA continue to monitor the situation and will issue updates as necessary.
