Flybe and Loganair end franchise

Flybe is to end its franchise agreement with Scottish airline Loganair.

Loganair operates lifeline routes between the Scottish mainland and islands, including the Western Isles.

Loganair, which has operated under franchise agreements for 24 years with other airlines, said it will operate in “its own right” from September 1st.

Jonathan Hinkles, Loganair’s managing director, said he was delighted that the airline will be taking to the skies in its own right.

It is expected that Loganair will establish its own reservations system by March on its website and that the Scottish Government-funded Air Discount Scheme (ADS) will continue to operate.
