Former owner of horse pleas to be consulted on new home for animal

Stephanie Noble had converted her living room in a terraced house in Lewis as a makeshift stable for Grey Lady Too, but the Comhairle later removed the animal against the wishes of Ms Noble and took it into care.

Now following a number of court cases over the past four years, approval has been given to the Comhairle to sell the animal.

Ms Noble says she has no problem with the decision to sell the horse, as she is now unable to look after her, but she has expressed her wish to be involved with the process.

She said: “I would like to know the people she is going to be rehomed with and be a part of the decision.

“I’m not in a position to take care of the pony, or contest the sale due to health issues and circumstances, but I am concerned about her and just want to know where she is going.

“My biggest concern is to know she is going to a home which can realise her full potential and be the kind of five-star home that I would have chosen for her had I been involved in the decision.”

A spokesperson for Comhairle nan Eilean Siar commented: “This was always about the welfare of the animal involved.

“We’re in the process of conducting a sale which we hope to conclude soon.”

Grey Lady Too, an adult Connemara pony, spent two years living in Ms Noble’s home before being removed by the council.
