Free Church Moderator calls for unity

The Moderator of the Free Church General Assembly, meeting in Edinburgh this week, has issued a positive note to the denomination, reminding them of the unique bond (“the communion of the Saints”) that unites Christians within the Church.

Referring to the divisions which have plagued the Free Church over two decades, Reverend Dr Iain D Campbell said: “I sense within the Church a feeling that we are at a new beginning, that it is time to re-group and to continue the work to which we have been called.”

The Free Church General Assembly meets this week and will also appoint a successor to Donald Macleod who retires this year as Professor of Systematic Theology.
