The NHS Western Isles Health Promotion team and the Living it Up Project are presenting a lunchtime session on healthy eating using herbs for good health.

Using the flavour of herbs rather than salt to get great tasting food has many health benefits. An interactive session, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and find out ways to use herbs in your everyday cooking.

We will have salads and herbs to try, from the more popular and well known herbs, to the lesser known flavourings. Bring your lunch and make a meal of it!

You will also have the opportunity to sign up for a Food and Health Course being held in October. The session is being run by Tina Burgess from NHS Western Isles’ Health Promotion Team.

The session will be held from 12.30pm to 1.30pm on Tuesday 3rd September at the Living it Up Pop Up Shop, 36 Point Street, Stornoway.

The Living it Up Project is initially aimed at people over the age of 50 and will be of particular interest to carers, people living with long term health and care conditions or those that just want to ensure they keep happy, healthy and safe.

It will deliver new health, care and wellness services, information and products via familiar technology, enabling people to better care for themselves and others.
