The organiser, local performance poet Kirsty Nicolson, calling on all spoken word enthusiasts said: “The Isle of Lewis has produced some world class poets, as performance poetry is having a huge popularity surge right now, it seems only fitting that a slam happens in Stornoway.”
Kirsty continues: “During a slam event, entrants have three minutes to deliver an original spoken word poem to an audience.
“Poems are then reviewed by a panel of carefully selected judges and judged on content, quality, and audience reaction.”
