The National Lottery has created 21 millionaires in the G postcode area, which covers Alexandria, Clydebank, Helensburgh and Dumbarton as well as Glasgow, in the last two years alone.

The city has also had a total of 106 big wins since the first draw in 1994, placing it second nationally.

But it’s Paisley (the PA postcode) that has been named as the luckiest, with more winners of £50,000 or more per head of population in Scotland since 2014.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser for The National Lottery said: “Glasgow has secured its position as the country’s Lottery millionaire capital producing nearly two a month over the past couple of years and over 100 members of the Millionaires Club since the National Lottery began.

“There are now a massive 4250 National Lottery millionaires across the country and with more than six new millionaires made every week there is likely to be another local winner made soon.”
