Great effort for Crossroads (Harris)

The fundraising endeavours of Cara and Connor Macdonald, are well known, so Crossroads were delighted when we were told that Connor had chosen Crossroads (Harris) as his beneficiary charity this year.

Nevertheless, we never expected the magnificent sum which he and sister Cara had raised.

A cheque for £1,000 was presented to Crossroads recently.

As well as his own endeavours, Conner enlisted the help of other members of his class in Sir E Scott School.

They planted potatoes and sold them and the proceeds of £100 was given to Crossroads.

Receiving the cheque, Morag Munro, Co-ordinator for Crossroads, paid tribute to the efforts of Connor and Cara and their classmates and said that their consideration and thoughtfulness for others augured well for the future generation.

Crossroads would also like to acknowledge with sincere thanks the generous donation of £340.20 raised by the family of the late William Macleod, Scadabay. The Committee, staff and clients are very grateful for the generous ongoing support we receive from the community.

Crossroads exists to provide respite care in the home to carers of ill, elderly and people with disabilities. We also provide support for ill, elderly or people with disabilities who live alone. The Scheme has received funding from the Change Fund to provide long-term night respite. If you wish more information on any of our services, please contact Morag Munro on 01859 550254 or 07778598311.
