Have your say on Conservation plans

The Comhairle is seeking views on draft Management Plans for Gearrannan, Stornoway, Howmore and Ruisgarry Conservation Areas.

This is part of a wider consultation of a new Outer Hebrides Local Development Plan.

There will be a small exhibition in Stornoway Town Hall on Wed 26th October between 2.00pm and 6.00pm to illustrate the new policies. Residents and visitors will have the opportunity discuss the draft plan and to submit their views and comments in writing. All comments will be considered in finalising the policies for the future.

Following the exhibition, on the same day, there will be a public meeting in the Town hall, commencing at 7.30pm, to discuss the possible extension of the Conservation Area. Residents and visitors will be able to submit their views and comments on this separately.

A similar open event will be held between 2.30pm and 7.30pm in Howmore Church Hall on Thursday 27 October and in the Nurses Cottage, Berneray on Friday 28 October.

Further information on the draft documents can be found on the Comhairle’s web site at www.cne-siar.gov.uk/planningservice/localdevplan.asp
