Hercules laid to rest on North Uist

Hercules the Bear has been re-buried on North Uist next to a statue commemorating the famous bear.

The grizzly bear shot to fame when he went missing filming a Kleenex advert on Benbecula in 1980 and was found alive more than three weeks later.

His owners Maggie and Andy Robin involved in the project to erect a statue in memory of Hercules in Langass Woodland.

The low key re-burying of Hercules took place recently and a special event is expected to take place later this summer.
