HHP ask tenants’ opinons

THE chance for tenants to catch up with their landlord is on offer this weekend as Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) are holding their annual event for tenants in Uist and Barra on Saturday, September 3, in Balivanich Community Hall.

HHP Chair, George Lonie, said: “We want tenants to tell us how we are doing. Tenants are at the centre of all that we do and we want them to have their say on how we plan and deliver services.

“This event is an important way for us to talk with tenants in Uist and Barra and to hear their views. I would urge as many tenants as possible to attend.”

As well as putting across their opinions, tenants will also have the opportunity to talk to staff and to get information and help on a whole range of issues from other agencies who will be represented.

This will include anti-social behaviour, home safety, energy advice, debt, investment to tenants homes and benefit and income advice.

Kevin Paterson, Chair of the Western Isles Forum of Tenants and Residents Associations (WIFTRA), who are co-hosting the event with, HHP said: “Tenants need to make their voices heard.

“We need to make sure that the services being provided by HHP are what we need and want for our homes. This event provides an opportunity to do just that. The event will be very informal and people can come and go as they choose.”

The Conference will run from 11.00 until 1.30 and a buffet lunch and teas and coffees will be provided. There will also be a free raffle with prizes donated by HHP and some of their contractors.
