HHP will host their annual lunch event for Lewis and Harris tenants on Friday 19 June 2015 between 12 and 2.00pm.
The event this year is in the Stornoway Town Hall.
The event will have a particular focus on energy efficiency and HHP partners such as TEAS and CAB will be in attendance to provide help and advice on how to reduce energy costs and save money.
Tenants can drop in, have lunch and chat to staff and also view the latest range of kitchens, windows and doors and heating systems being offered to tenants.
Councillor David Blaney, Chair of HHP said “This is a great chance for tenants to get advice on saving money and to see what HHP are doing. They can give their views on our services in an informal setting. Tenants can come when they can and leave when they want - the emphasis is on informality. I would urge people to attend. We want to hear tenants’ views on their homes and to work together to improve services”.
There will be an activity corner for pre-school children and a free to enter raffle for each household attending. Once again there are fantastic prizes donated by HHP and their partners and contractors.
There will also be information available on services provided by a range of other local agencies and an opportunity for people to talk to officers about welfare reform and the bedroom tax and worries they have about these.
HHP have appointed TPAS (Scotland) to work with tenants and to help them get involved in how services are delivered.
Their new Development Officer Jane Ballantyne said “I would urge all tenants to come along. I am keen to meet people and see how we can work together to ensure tenants views are heard and listened to”.
