It’s Hogmanay and communities across the Western Isles are making preparations for the New Year.
Tonight (Tuesday) in Stornoway there will be a fireworks display at 9pm on Bayhead followed by a street ceilidh.
Organised by the Stornoway Amenity Trust, the family event will run until 10:30pm.
Funds for the event were donated by local businesses including A B Electronics; Duncan Mackay and Sons; Grillburger; I A & C Maciver; Ivor Murray; Lewis Builders and Macmillan Engineering.
In Tarbert, the Harris Mutual Improvement Association is organising a New Year’s Dance at the Tarbert Community Centre featuring Catch 22 and Corina Macinnes. The night will get underway at 11pm and tickets are available from Brownies shop in Tarbert. It is open to over 18s only.
