A host of activities at Lewis Carnival

The Lewis Carnival takes place this weekend

The traditional float parade is due to leave Willowglen at 1.00 pm before heading into Stornoway ‘s town centre.

As usual there will be a fair and attractions hosted in South Beach carpark running next to a series of stalls and fun activities for all ages.

These include the inflatable gladiator joust, coconut shy, bouncy castle and a BBQ.

The continental market is also in town and is based at the old bus station on Cromwell Street.

In addition to the float procession the Lewis and Skye Pipe Bands will both be performing in the town.

Car drivers are reminded that South Beach car park will close from 6pm on Friday, August 5 until 6pm on Saturday. August 6, to allow for set up of the carnival stalls and stage.

Drivers are reminded to remove their cars in plenty time
