Harris Crofter Angus Macleod MBE from Leachkin, West Tarbert, was honoured with the Construction Industry Excellence Award at their Inaugural Highland Construction Dinner held at the Drumossie Hotel Inverness on 9 November.
Speakers included Danny Alexander MP, Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Adrian Warner,BBC Olympic Correspondent.
Angus recently retired from Inverness College UHI as Head of School of Construction and Forestry after 40 years service. He was seen as instrumental in the success of Further and Higher Education programmes at Inverness College UHI and for his valued and extensive contribution to the construction industry in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Angus, who is married to Mary from Strond and have five daughters, was awarded MBE for services to Education in Scotland in 2005.
Over 260 people attended the event, organised by the Scottish Building Federation, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
A grand total of £8500 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care (Highland) on the evening.
