Isle of Lewis photographer David Glenday’s image taken in Valtos, Isle of Lewis has been selected as ‘August’ in the STV Appeal calendar 2014.

The calendar, containing images of Scotland contributed by STV viewers, is now on sale in Lidl stores across the country and online.

Earlier this year, STV appealed for viewers to submit their seasonal snaps and hundreds of keen amateur and professional photographers sent in their pictures of Scotland throughout the year.

The calendar includes images from the West Coast of Lewis to the Firth of Tay and the final 12 were selected by an STV panel, including weatherman Sean Batty, award winning cameraman Danny Livingston and STV chief executive Rob Woodward.

Elizabeth Partyka of the STV Appeal said: “So far this year the STV Appeal has raised a phenomenal £2.5m for children and young people affected by poverty and the money is still coming in.

“The 2014 calendar is a fantastic way to add to this total and we really appreciate the photographers from across Scotland who sent in their pictures.

“The calendar is full of fantastic images, including David’s image of Valtos, and money from every sale will go to the Appeal so we hope the STV Appeal calendar 2014 is on everyone’s Christmas list.”
