Jack and Emily still top baby names
It is the eighth consecutive year that Jack has ranked top for a boy’s name, and the second year running for girls’ name Emily.
The information comes from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) which lists all the first forenames that were given to babies whose births were registered in 2015.

Hide AdIt supersede the Top 100s published on December 17 which covered births registered in the first 11 months of 2015), but the top names of Jack and Emily have remain unchanged.
The name Jack was given to 565 baby boys, while 497 girls were named Emily.
Other popular names for 2015 babies include Oliver, James, Lewis and Alexander, and Sophie, Olivia, Isla and Jessica.
More unusual names on the list included Kingsford, River, and Rock for boys, and Fox, Bow and December-Lee for girls.
The three most popular surnames in the Birth, Marriage and Death registers for 2015 were Smith, Brown and Wilson.
