Eoligarry Primary School is congratulating its P5-7 choir, who sang so beautifully on September 26 at Mòd Ionadail Bharraigh is Bhatarsaigh.

The choir sang ‘Eilean mo Chridh’ and were placed first in their competition for Unison.  For Puirt A Beul the choir sang ‘O Dh’Ith na Coin na Maragan’, ‘Chuirinn Air a’ Phìob’ and ‘Fac thu na Feidh’ and were placed 1st in this competition too.

The hard work and dedication that all of the pupils in the choir put in have to be commended, says the headteacher, who says well done all pupils. Thanks are also sent to all those who helped in the effort to prepare the kids for their singing triumph.

Congratulations also go to Charlotte and Joanna, who sang ‘Fagail Bharraigh’ for their duet at the Mòd. Teachers were impressed with both girls’ exquisite singing and happy to see them placed first.

There were also many solo entries for the Mòd this year: Joanna sang ‘O Teanaibh Dlùth is Togaibh Fon’ and was placed fourth, while Charlotte sang ‘A Ghaoil, Saoil am Faigh mi Thu?’ and took third. Lauren, Catriona and Orla all sang ‘Uiseag Bheag Dhearg’; Orla was placed second while Lauren and Catriona were joint fifth.

Dòmhnall and Christopher also sang ‘Uiseag Bheag Dhearg’, with Dòmhnall being placed first and Christopher second.

Lastly Maria and Holly both sang ‘Sùilean Dubha’, with Maria taking second and Holly, third – ar beannachdan oirb!
