Recently a group of 11 Koreans arrived in Stornoway for a five-day prayer mission, hosted by Martins Memorial Church.Every year for the last four years a church in Korea has sent some 300 prayer missionaries to the UK for a week to pray for and encourage the church in the UK. The 300 prayer missionaries are split into groups of 10 so that they visit 30 different parts in the UK to stand with and for the church.

The Stornoway group stayed in the church for five days, as their main prayer time is from 12midnight till 5am. They then had a morning worship service at 5.30am, and later in the morning an hour of Bible Study lead by one of the pastors. People from the Martin’s Memorial congregation joined during some of their prayer times. After the five day prayer mission the prayer missionaries then gathered back in London for a time of celebration, thanksgiving, and worship.

A Presbytery meal in one of the local hotels was organised to honour the Korean Guests.

And thanks was given to to Rev and Mrs Paul Amen and Rev and Mrs Ian Murdo MacDonald for their years of faithful, dedicated, and fruitful service in the parishes of Barvas and Ness respectively.
