Beautiful Scotland and It’s Your Neighbourhood encourages people who “clean up and green up” the areas where they live, work and play to register and be recognised for their efforts.

So far over 130 groups from across Scotland have registered, but the charity wants more to come forward before the May deadline.

Derek Robertson, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful said: “More than 200 groups from across Scotland took part in last year’s initiative, and we hope to see record-breaking numbers participating in the 2016 celebrations.

“Year round, communities from across Scotland do their bit to make sure their local spaces are clean, green and beautiful. The Beautiful Scotland and It’s Your Neighbourhood campaigns provide the opportunity for us to support the work they do, celebrate their achievements and encourage even more people to take part.”
