Voting for the name of the new Stornoway/ Ullapool ferry closes at midnight tonight (Friday 5th) - meaning there is just one day left to have your say.

Either Cape Wrath, Loch Ewe, Loch Broom, Callanish or Loch Seaforth will take up to 700 passengers and 143 cars or 21 commercial vehicles across the Minch and replace the Isle of Lewis in 2014.

The name for the vessel will be known on Monday (8th) and the shortlist of possible names was first revealed at a public meeting in Stornoway Town Hall at the end of February.

One person chosen at random from those suggesting the most popular name will be invited as a special guest (with a friend) to the ferry’s launch in Germany. They will also win a one day ferry crossing of their choice for a car and two people, courtesy of Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd.

The new ferry is being built at Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft MBH and Co KG - Flensburg, Germany. Work is still being completed on the final design with building due to begin in September this year.
