Last chance to nominate inspiring young people

The clock is ticking for people across the Western Isles to nominate inspirational young people for the milestone tenth annual Young Scot Awards with only two weeks remaining.

Ahead of the 27 February deadline, Young Scot is encouraging people in the Western Isles to nominate young people aged 11-26 who have made a positive difference to the lives of others.

The Young Scot Awards recognise the amazing achievements of some of Scotland’s remarkable young people across 11 different categories including Community, Cultural Diversity, Enterprise, Unsung Hero, Volunteering, Sport, Entertainment and The Arts.

Louise Macdonald, Chief Executive of Young Scot, said: “With only two weeks to go until nominations close for what is a landmark tenth year for our Young Scot Awards, we’re urging people from the Western Isles to nominate ten young people who have shone in their communities and made a positive difference.

“The awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise how wonderful our young people are and a chance to see their efforts and dedication rewarded. We’ve already received many incredible entries for this year’s awards and we’re looking forward to more young people being nominated over the next fortnight.”

Nominations for young people or groups can be submitted via website until midnight 27 February. Winners will be announced at a glittering red carpet award ceremony on April 30 in Edinburgh.
