Leverburgh RNLI Lifeboat called to assist grounded vessel

At 7.50pm on the evening of Tuesday 30th July RNLB The Royal Thames was called to assist a 24m vessel which had grounded on a reef in Loch Rodel, South Harris.

The crew of the lifeboat stood by while the vessel re floated on the rising tide.

The vessel was then escorted to Leverburgh pier to allow for an assessment to be made regarding any damage sustained.

Leverburgh Lifeboat was back on station, refuelled and ready for service again at midnight.
