Majority of High Church members vote to leave Church of Scotland

The Congregation of the High Church in Stornoway have formally voted in favour of leaving the Church of Scotland.

It is understood that a congregational vote by the Lewis Presbytery of the Church of Scotland found that 236 were in favour of leaving while 103 voted to remain as part of the Church of Scotland.

The Presbytery is due to meet on December 17th and will note this decision.
