Meeting to discuss Leverburgh Lifeboat

The community of Harris is being asked to come out in force tonight (Tuesday) to discuss the establishment of a lifeboat in Leverburgh.

The RNLI Operations Committee has approved the proposal for a trial period next year but this decision needs to be confirmed by the RNLI Trustees who are due to meet on November 2.

The community are now hoping to take forward the plans and get together a crew and also set up the necessary support systems such as the Ladies’ Lifeboat Guild.

A public meeting will be held in Leverburgh Hall tonight (Tuesday) October 18 at 7.30pm and all are welcome to attend.
