Urras Eaglais Na H-Aoidhe will be holding the Inaugural Annual Lecture in Sgoil a Rubha at Garrabost on Friday 8th June at 7.30pm.
The Lecture will be given by Alexander Matheson, O.B.E., and Lord Lieutenant of the Western Isles who will give a talk on ‘Notes on some Church Buildings in the Stornoway area.’
The evening will also mark a number of important milestones for the Urras as they launch three new initiatives;
Launch of a book by Trust Vice Chairperson Colin Scott Mackenzie entitled ‘St Columba’s Ui Church otherwise Eaglais Na H-Aoidhe, an Historical Perspective.’

Donald Crichton, Chairman of Urras Eaglais Na H-Aoidhe, said: “This will provide a good opportunity to learn both about the history and what the future holds for the church at Aiginish which is one of the most important mediaeval buildings in Lewis.
