Minister meets new Commissioners

The Scottish Government’s Environment Minister, Stewart Stevenson recently met with Scotland’s new crofting commissioners.

In a recent interview with the Stornoway Gazette Mr MacLennan said he was keen to tackle the economic issues facing crofting, he said: “Crofting has not had its fair share of agricultural support within Scotland. There should be a better redistribution to the less favoured areas, those with difficulties in transport and quality of land, which is certainly true in the case of the Western Isles.”
