The sister of missing Hungarian man Tamas Gador is appealing to the people of Lewis to help find her brother.

Twenty seven year old student Tamas was visiting the island last weekend and reported missing on Wednesday after he failed to return to pre-booked accommodation after a nights camping.

His sister Krisztina said his disappearance was completely out of character and urged people to keep a lookout for him.

He has been travelling in the UK for the last two months but was due to fly back home this week.

Krisztina said: “We last heard of him on Sunday, when he sent us an email about going out camping on the island of Lewis. My message would be to the locals of Lewis and its area; please keep a lookout for him and report it if you think you’ve seen him. His family is desperate to have information on his whereabouts.”

Tamas Gador is described as 6 foot in height, of slim build, neck-length dark hair, with a beard (but no moustache). He was last seen wearing a bright green waterproof jacket, light-coloured trousers, walking boots and carrying a large rucksack and had a dome tent with a red rain cover.

It is possible that Mr Gador made other accommodation arrangements whilst visiting the area, but Police are keen to speak to him directly, to anyone who has seen a man matching his description or to anyone who knows of his whereabouts on 01851 702222.
