Neil Martin Honour Trophy nominations sought

The Harris Mutual Improvement Association is again seeking nominations for the Neil Martin Honour Trophy 2010.

The person or group nominated should be up to 25 years of age or have attained that birthday during the year. Those nominated must be a native of Harris or of Harris parentage, but not necessarily born or residing in Harris, but known to have spent time in Harris in their youth.

The person or group will be considered on the basis of them having brought special credit to themselves or to the island of Harris in the field of public service, education, outstanding sporting achievement, an act of heroism or other worthy act.

Nominations should be sent to Mr John Murdo Morrison, Tigh a’ Chreagain, Tarbert, Harris, by December 22, 2010.

Last year’s recipient was Alan Glen,of Holm Road, Stornoway andgrandson of Adrian and Ina Glen, Tarbert, who was serving with the Black Watch as a soldier of the Stornoway TA and did a tour of duty in Helmand Province.
