All the tickets sold out for the Nepalese themed charity buffet at the Cabarfeidh HotelStornoway last Saturday and lots of additional guests arrived for the ceilidh, so the ballroom was packed with generous supporters.
With every penny of the ticket money going to the appeal, raffle and silent auction ticket sales, plus collections in Cala’s Hotels, efforts by the Nepalese chefs and staff have now raised over £5,700 to be donated directly to the DEC Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
The chefs cooked a wonderful, authentic Nepalese banquet using ingredients donated by local suppliers, Grillburger, Williamsons, WJ Macdonald, Harbour Seafoods, Islander Shellfish and Sean Clark Fish Merchants of Buckie.
Hotel staff decorated the ballroom with Nepalese flags and hundreds of twinkling lights to create a delightful party atmosphere, perfect for the ceilidh that followed the dinner, with musicians and dancers from Lewis, Harris and Scalpay.
